Nunaturlik Kangiqsujuaq

Nunaturlik means "on their way to the land” in Inuktitut and is the landholding corporation for the community of Kangiqsujuaq.

Kangiqsujuaq meaning "the large bay” in Inuktitut is located about 10 km from the Hudson Strait. It is also known as Wakeham Bay, in reference to the bay along which the community is located. Wakeham Bay takes its name from Captain William Wakeham who, in 1897, lead an expedition to determine whether the Hudson Strait was safe for navigation.
